Conductor's Corner

One of my greatest joys is working with members of the community of all ages that are curious about music and how it can change their lives!
In our last concert in April, 2015, we awarded Robert Carcano a viola outfit scholarship of nearly $3,000. After having been homeless and assaulted at gunpoint, he still continued to drive from over an hour away to teach music to "at risk youth" here in the valley. He has been with the orchestra for over six years and during that time he was playing on an $80 viola!
Thanks to the continual drive we see in examples like Robert we are moved to continue bringing quality music programs into rural cities/towns.
Today, September 24th, 2015 we started our first of its kind beginning strings orchestra for adults here at Mt. San Jacinto College through the continuing education department - at no cost to the students. There are still five spots available. If interested, show up on Thursdays from 6-8pm in the music building, room 1602.
Stay tuned for updates on how we are using music as a vehicle for social change!
